This picture induced a very heated discussion between my friends and I as we tried to decipher whether or not they were a romantic couple, simply friends, perhaps related, or even strangers who had just met. We came to the conclusion that the one wearing grey seemed to have a crush on the one in green, but the one in green was oblivious to this fact.
We came to such a conclusion by reading their body language: the grey one's left arm seemed to inch a tiny bit closer to the arm of the green human, and yet one could sense a sort of hesitation in the action. A shyness that could not be described with words, but could be felt and seen through the experience of watching them. It made me feel excited for both people involved, and the hopeless romantic (again, spectacle) in me hoped and dreamed that they would end up happily together in the case that he did, in fact, have a crush on her and that they were not related or just friends.
Through people-watching, I realized that there is a lot of mysteriousness surrounding images and human connection. We will never know what the outcome is because we are unknown to them. I do not really enjoy always being in the dark about such things and not knowing everything in the world-- and yet this is how life seems to work. So here we are, taking pictures of random strangers, and hoping that things will work out for them.
